U.S. EPA Region 7 has signed an agreement with 16 independent Wisconsin colleges and universities that allow the institutions to conduct their own compliance audits and self-report, only as necessary. Under the agreement, as long as the school's correct violations and meet the conditions of the agreement, all or most penalties will be eliminated. This initiative follows similar self-audit agreements with multiple universities in EPA regions 3 and 4.
