| Short Description |
EPA hosted a roundtable meeting in San Francisco to kick-off development of new environmental standards for copies. The meeting brings together multiple stakeholders representing manufacturers, users, agencies, public interest groups and standard writers to look at the use of EPEAT – an on-line tool to help institutional buyers identify and buy greener electronic equipment – to promote green copiers. EPEAT has been successfully used to set environmental criteria for desktop and laptop computers and monitors and includes a system for registering and verifying equipment that meets those criteria. The timeline for standard development is approximately 12-18 months.
