The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has fined six Arizona charter school operators a total of $11,600 for alleged violations of the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act. The schools failed to conduct an initial inspection using accredited inspectors to determine if asbestos containing materials is present and develop a management plan, as necessary. All schools have since completed requisite inspections.
