Meeting for Colleges and Universities on the Revised Hazardous Waste Generator Rule to be hosted by Northeastern University

Program will be held on January 31, 2017 in Boston, MA

EPA representatives from EPA headquarters will provide detailed information on the revision and allow ample time for discussion and questions.

Overview of Planned Training:   The US EPA recently issued the Hazardous Waste Generator Improvements Final Rule incorporating over 60 changes to the hazardous waste generator regulatory program. These changes affect practically every component of the Generator program, and therefore may affect the way colleges and universities identify and manage the hazardous waste they generate.

The US EPA will be at Northeastern University in Boston. MA on January 31, 2017 to provide training to colleges and universities on this rule.    Although the EPA is scheduling some other meetings across the country, these meetings will either involve the regional offices or the state in making the outreach to get generators to the training.  What's different with the Boston meeting is that it will be devoted to colleges and universities only.  Subsequent training/outreach meetings will be with all types of generators.  Since many college and university organizations and forums had big concerns with the rule, EPA thought it would be worthwhile to devote time with them to walk you through the rule and identify questions and concerns colleges and universities still may have.

EPA is interested in identify questions or hearing about issues beforehand so they can prepare and make it a more effective meeting.
