Lab Building Benchmarking: Boston and Beyond

This free webinar will present an important new benchmarking study of academic laboratory buildings from the Boston area, conducted by the Boston Green Ribbon Commission's Higher Education Working Group. Lab buildings are a key area of focus at large research institutions, where they are typically the biggest energy consumers on campus. The quality and detail of the new GRC sample of 121 buildings exceeds that of any publicly available dataset of lab facilities. A presenter from Harvard University (which chairs the Working Group) will describe the motivation for the study and its collaborative approach to tackling lab energy use. The analysis results and their implications beyond Boston - including the development of an energy score for lab buildings - will be presented by the study's lead analyst.
