February 14, 2018, 3-4pm

In conjunction with the release of the AASHE publication on Aggregating Higher Education Demand for Renewables, AASHE is hosting a free webinar on the following:

More than 240 campuses are using some sort of renewable energy. The Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE) in partnership with Edison Energy developed a recently published primer publication highlighting benefits of aggregating energy demand with other institutions to achieve economies of scale when sourcing renewable energy. When both wind and solar programs can be large enough to capture economics of scale. Both options can be conducive to a consortium-style purchasing approach. The primer describes best practices for pursuing group renewable energy aggregations structured as power purchase agreements (PPAs) and examines several completed group purchases as well as some in progress. Other energy and operationally resources noted on the NACUBO Sustainability page.

Speakers from Edison Energy and University of Buffalo will be presenting at the 2018 NACUBO Annual Meeting in Long Beach, Ca. July 21-24, 2018.
